- Minimum 24 Hrs notice of cancellation to avoid cancellation fees (Fees set at 20% of the cost of the trip)
- Cancellation within 3 hours of the booked trip will incur 100% cancellation fee.
- No shows pay full price unless a sufficient reason can be given.
- All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST.
- The price advertised might not be the same price charged to the credit card account due to exchange rate fluctuations. This means that because we are based in New Zealand we have to convert your purchase to New Zealand dollars at the exchange rate on the day it is processed.
- Each individual booking is allocated the required number of RailCruisers based on multiples of four seats being filled e.g. A booking of 8 people will be allocated 2 RailCruisers, a booking of 10 will be allocated 3 RailCruisers
- Group booking discounts are based on filling all four seats in a RailCruiser
- Railcruising.com reserves the right to cancel or amend any trip or booking for any reason and assumes no responsibility for any personal injury, loss or damage to personal equipment, delays or irregularities which may occur in the operation of this business for whatever reason.
- Online booking payments are processed immediately and are thereafter subject to our cancellations policy.
Travelling with Pets
We’re excited to welcome you and your pet on board! To make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable ride, please read and note your signing means that agree to the following:
-your pet must be kept on a leash, in a carrier, or otherwise safely under your control at all times.
-You are responsible for safely loading and unloading your pet — our crew are not able to assist with handling animals.
-Be considerate of other passengers; pets must stay close to you and not block walkways.
-Pets must be up-to-date on their vaccinations (including rabies, distemper, and parvovirus, or as required locally) be healthy and not carry any contagious conditions. We may ask for proof of vaccinations if needed.
-You are fully responsible for your pet’s actions. -If your pet becomes aggressive, disruptive, or unsafe, you may be asked to disembark for everyone’s safety (refunds won’t apply).
-The Operator and its staff are not responsible for injury, loss, or damage involving your pet, to you, or other passengers.
-Traveling with pets involves some risks. By purchasing this ticket, you accept full responsibility for your pet and any issues that may arise.

- Railcruising.com manages the hazards of road and rail transport. You must follow the instructions of the Railcruising staff at all times.
-The Driver must not stop the rail car unless there is an emergency. This is to avoid injury to passengers in the rail car as well as any rail car behind them who may bang into them. The Driver will be liable for any injury to passengers, or damage to rail cars if they have stopped where there is no emergency and caused a collision.
- Parents are responsible for their minors and must ensure that they follow the instructions of the Railcruising staff.
- It is your responsibility to advise us at the time of the booking of any medical condition or physical disability, which requires any special treatment or attention.
- The Operator reserves the right to decline your booking on the grounds that your safety could be compromised. No person presenting himself or herself for a trip in an apparently intoxicated state or under the influence of drugs will be permitted to participate nor will any refund be forthcoming.
- Tickets may be refundable at our discretion. We reserve the right to cancel or amend any trip or booking. To the extent permitted by law, all our liability for damage to your property, disruption to travel plans, or mental injury is excluded.
